On average in Australia, 2 people are diagnosed with MND every day, and 2 people die of MND every day. Being part of the Shut Up! For MND: Challenges Edition, means you're raising awareness and funds that support Victorians living with MND now.
For 44 years, MND Victoria has provided the best possible care and support for those living with MND. We are the only not-for-profit organisation providing direct care to all Victorians living with the devastating disease, at no cost to them. The level of support, the quality of information, and the access to vital assistive equipment has increased greatly since 1981 – thanks to incredible donors, fundraisers, and participants, just like you.
At no direct cost to the person with MND, MND Victoria provides:
- MND Advisor – expert knowledge, support, and guidance to help manage MND and access services
- NDIS Support Coordination
- Information Sessions – for newly diagnosed people and their loved one, and for health professionals
- Equipment (Loan) Service – at no cost to the person living with MND
- Group Programs – connect with others
- Support for Carers
- Counselling
- Other Services – our volunteers provide massage, social support and more
