I am choosing to go without my voice in support of those who have lost theirs to motor neurone disease (MND). This is a personal cause for me as my Dad was diagnosed with Progressive Bulbar ALS - a very progressive form of MND which affects your speech and swallowing first. I have experienced first hand in my personal and professional life how MND affects the individual and how devastating it is for the individual and family. For 43 years, MND Victoria has provided care and support services for those living with MND - from equipment, support groups, support coordinators, counselling service and more. I am participating in the Shut Up Challenge to raise funds that go towards providing direct care to all Victorians living with MND. I will be going without voice on the Friday the 20th of September from 8am-8pm.
“Good on you Samantha”
“Hi Samantha, well done for this initiative. Love to you and your Dad. Xx”
“Eye Four Eye Manly”
“Well done sam. I tried to crack you but you were staunch.”
