How do I nominate my friends?
Head to our Nomination Form to nominate your friends! They will receive an email letting them know they have been nominated to join you in Shutting Up!

Can I add people to my team after I register?
Absolutely! On your team fundraising page, click on “invite members” located under the team members section at the bottom of the page. From here, insert up to five (5) team invitations at a time.
Do I have to Shut Up! for the whole time period?
We get it, both the 6 and 12 hour options are a long time. But that's the point of the challenge. These hours of silence help raise awareness and funds for those whose MND journey entails losing their speech forever.
What if I slip up and speak?
Here at MND Victoria, we are very forgiving and understanding, you're only human! We trust that you will keep track and if you slip up and speak, perhaps donate to yourself. Think of it like a speak jar.
Can I Shut Up! on a different day?
We are asking everyone to Shut Up! on 29 September 2022, but you can do The Challenge on a day that works best for you!
Do I have to fundraise?
Whilst fundraising is an optional part of The Challenge, we do encourage it. Every gift, no matter how big or small, makes a difference, with over 70% of MND Victoria's income coming from the generosity of people like you.
What if I have cash to donate?
Every dollar counts! If you have cash to donate, contact us via 03 9830 2122 or by emailing shutupchallenge@mnd.org.au - so we can add it to your fundraising total.
Is my donation tax deductible?
All donations over $2 are tax deductible, and you will automatically receive your tax receipt to your emails after donating online.

All money raised through Shut Up! For MND directly supports Victorians living with MND by funding the direct care, support and vital assistive equipment required to help them live better for longer. Find out more.
